in Wilmington, DE. and is currently in the possession of his son, Wagner D. Jackson of Potomac, MD.
It is an Illumintaed Bible published in 1846 by Harper & Bros. See bottom of page for notes. (transcribed 8/25/00 by Lynn C. Jackson)

| Obit: Mrs. Elizabeth Green, colored, died suddenly yesterday morning while preparing to go to church at her home. Seventh and Kaign Avenue. Coronor Henry held a view and decided her death was due to heart troubles. She was 41 years of age and connected with the Order of Ruth, G.U.O. of O.F."

| Obit excerpt: John W. Hamilton of 703 Kaign Ave, "one of the best known colored Masons in the state"....steward of the schooner Anna J. Trainer of which he was part owner.. Docked at Tilton shipyard....only recently purchased a house on South Sixth Street where, in three weeks, he expected to take his bride, a well known school teacher in one of the local colored schools. He leaves 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
