Enoch M. Dean was the son of Jesse Dean Jr.and Hester Ann Carney . He was born on the family farm along the Dover to Smyrna Rd. in Little Creek Hundred, Kent Co.,DE on 19 December,1833.

On 30 July, 1863 he married Angelina Munce , daughter of Robert Munce Jr. and Jemima Hansor.

The couple moved to Cumberland Co., NJ around 1870-74 and they appear in the census records living in Fairfield Township, Cumberland Co., NJ. They then moved to 2 Cherry Street, Bridgeton, NJ.

Enoch and Angelina had the following children:
