Sarah Dean was born in Kent Co., DE in 1847 according to the 1850 Kent County DE Census records. She was the daughter of William Dean and his wife, (Mary) Ann Cork . Sometime betweem 1850 and 1860 the family moved to Romulus Twp., Wayne, MI. where they appear in the 1860 census records.

Sarah married Perry PERKINS, the son of Mitchel Perkins and Sarah Becketts, who was born in Delaware on September 15, 1840. His occupation on the 1870 and 1880 Romulus Twp. census records is "farmer".
