Indian Mission M. P. Church
The Indian Mission Church is located at the intersection of CR 48 & Rt. 5 near Hollyville in Sussex Co., DE. The church, built in 1881 and known as "Johnson's Chapel", was affiliated with the Methodist Protestant denomination.

On 27 March, 1884 the land was conveyed by Jesse E. & Elizabeth Joseph to the trustees: Samuel B. Norwood, Whittington Johnson, David P. Street, James H. Clark, Elisha Wright, William A. Johnson & John W. Harmon.

The church was formally incorporated on 23 May 1915. A new building was erected in 1921 and called Indian Mission M. P. Church. The oldest grave belongs to Ann Johnson who died on 10/7/1885.

Transcriptions were made between 1980 - 2000. The dates have been standardized in format.

Entries in quotes are inscriptions copied from the markers. Other entries are comments.

The listing is not in strict alphabetical order because I have grouped together individuals appearing on the same grave stone. I have also tried to keep together individuals grouped in the same "plot".
