Araminta Morgan, daughter of Edward Morgan and Mamie Durham, was born in Fairton, NJ in 1922. She moved with her father and sister, Selina, to Wilmington DE where she attended high school. She then attended Temple University in Philadelphia , the first member of her family to attend college. She majored in accounting and worked as a bookkeeper.

| Araminta married Francis Jackson on 26 June, 1948 and
lived in Philadelphia the rest of her life. She died on November 23, 1999 and is buried at Immanuel Union (Manship) Church in Cheswold, next to her husband who died on May 28, 1998.
