On 20 May, 1832 he married Jemima HANSOR who was born in Delaware c.1813. I don't have any information about Jemima but she was undoubtably connected to the mixed race Hansor family, either the Kent or Sussex counties line.
Robert and Jemima are believed to have had the following children:

- Nehemiah Munce (1853- )
- Jeremiah Munce (1855- )
It is not clear if Isaiah was, in fact, the son of Robert and Jemima. The 1840 census shows only 2 sons under the age of 10 in the household. Also Isaiah does not appear in the 1850 census records with this family. Isaiah's age is uncertain. He was born sometime between 1831-1840 according to various census records and his grave marker. The 1840 Kent County census shows Robert Munce Jr., Isaiah Mounce and William Munce, all living in the area. It is possible that Isaiah was the son of any one of them and further work needs to be done to clear this up.
I have no information about when or where Robert or Jemima died. They do not appear in any census records after 1850 but it is believed by some that Robert was still alive in 1870.
