MILLSBORO- John W. Carter, 72, died yesterday at Beebe Hospital, Lewes, after a long illness.

Mr. Carter was a retired employee of the Post Office and had lived in Millsboro since his retirement. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nora Carter, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Games, Cheswold, Mrs. Agnes Newlin, Philadelphia, Mrs. Catherine Cuff, Bridgeton, NJ, and Mrs. Laura Pierce, Monroeville, NJ and a brother, Hopewell Carter of Franklinville, NJ.

Services will be Sunday night at 8 at the James Funeral Home, Millsboro, where friends may call tomorrow night. Interment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, PA.


CARTER : In Kent General Hospital, Dover, Del, on Jan. 29, 1961, William James, husband of Lulu Ray Carter of Cheswold, Del., aged 71 years. relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Union Immanuel Methodist Church in Cheswold, Del on Thursday afternoon, Feb.2, at 1:00 o'clock. Interment at Union Immanuel Methodist Cemetary, Cheswold. Friends may call at his late residence near Cheswold on Wednesday evening, 7 to 9 o'clock.
