ORPHANS COURT AUGUST 28, 1783:
To this Court comes RACHEL HANSON (sp.), a minor above the age of fourteen years, daughter of William Hanson deceased and by her petition prays the Court to appoint some suitable person her guardian which being considered is granted whereupon the Court do appoint John Durham who she choses and John being present in Court accepts of the trust reposed in him and gave bond in the sum of one thousand pounds current lawful money of the Delaware state with Richard Turley (sp??) hus security for his faithful discharge thereof as per the bond filed at large may appear.

[N.B. William died in 1768 leaving a widow, Sarah, who , when she died in 1771 called John Durham, her "next of kin". According to the estate papers, Rachel was born after her father's death. It is possible she was the same Rachel Hansor who died in 1815

To this court comes ELIZABETH HANDSOR, a minor above the age of fourteen, daughter of William Handsor deceased and by her petition prays the court to appoint some proper person her guardain which being considered is granted and the Court do appoint William Pierce who she choses , guardian of said minor and the said William Pierce being present in Court accepts the trust in him reposed and gave bond in the sum of five hundred pounds lawful money with Stephen Alston his security for the faithful discharge thereof as per the bond filed at large may appear

[N.B. Elizabeth and her sister, Jemima, were mentioned in the 1785 will of their grandfather, Nehemiah Handsor as heirs to Jolly's Neck Farm]
