In the name of God, Amen. I Moses Coker of Caroline Couty in the state of Maryland being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and be the better prepared to leave this world when I shall (unclear) God to call me home, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in the manner and form. That is to say,
First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried in the flap top (unclear) coffin by any executor hereafter named. And after my debts and funeral charges are paid and fullu discharged and satisfied, the residue of my estate both real and personal I give and bequeath as follows, to wit
I give and bequeath unto my daughter CATHERINE COKER, the sum of three hundred dollars to be paid to her in installments of eighteen dollars a year with the interest on the principal which may be due at the time of said payment to be paid to her by my executors as long as she may live if said sum of three hundred dollars is not all consumed.
I give and bequeath to MAHALA BARRETT, my daughter the sum of one hundred dollars.
I give and bequeath to ABNER COKER, my son the sum of one dollar.
I give and bequeath to my grand daughters SARAH AUGUSTA THOMAS, daughter of CLEMENTINE WYATT the sum of fifty dollars. To the (unclear) of the children of Clementine Wyatt I give and bequeath the sum of one dollar (unclear).
I give and bequeath to my grandson EBEN BAYARD the sum of fifty dollars.
I give and bequeath to JEREMIAH BAYARD, my grandson the sum of fifty dollars.
I give and bequeath to my grandson EUGENE BAYARD the sum of one dollar.
I give and bequeath to JOHN HENRY PARKER, my son in law the sum of twenty dollars.
I give and bequeath to MOSES COKER , grandson of DANIEL COKER the sum of two hundred dollars.
I give and bequeath to PATRICK HENRY COKER the sum of one dollar.
I give and bequeath to my granddaughters, the daughters of Abner Coker, the sum of fifty dollars each to be paid when they arrive at full (unclear) by my executor. To pay and ratify the above bequeaths, I will that the farm or tract of land adjoining the lands of Henry Dill and the farm where John Lockerman now lives, and situate on the east side of the public road leading from (unclear) to (unclear) Saw Mill, being the same land purchased of William Hughlett and containing one hundred and forty acres more or lesss, the same to be sold to the highest bidder, saving all the land on the south side of the mill road, and applied as (unclear) before specified, I give and bequeath the entire residue of my estate, both real and personal to my grandsons JOHN HENRY COKER, JOHN WESLEY COKER and FELIX COKER, sons of Abner Coker to be equally divided among them share and share alike to be paid to them when they arrive at age, and if either of the above named three boys should die before they arrive at age, the entire (unclear) of the minor deceased to go to Abner Coker, the father of said boys.
I hereby make and constitute and appoint Andrew B. Roe of Caroline County State of Maryland to be executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this eighth day of September one thousand eight hundred and sixty four.
